Franz Marc Horse Paintings

One of my most favorite artists is Franz Marc! He was able to express animals using color and movement in a way that no other artist is able to express. Throughout the years, I have created several Franz Marc projects for my students.  The latest being a painted horse using tints and shades.  Students were asked to portray a natural pose of a horse up close.  They had to decide upon a color palette using colors opposite each other on their painting.  Here are a few of my favorite paintings created by my 4th grade art students.
